TIPS FOR CLEANING LAMINATE, PARQUET, CORK, NATURAL STONE AND PVC

HERE'S HOW TO CLEAN YOUR FLOOR THE RIGHT WAY!

For a bright result and a long life, every floor covering, be it carpet, wood, stone or plastic, needs the right care. And that means going beyond just vacuuming and mopping once. We have collected some important tips for you.

Cleaning the laminate

Laminate is relatively inexpensive, sturdy, easy to install, clean and maintain. It is best to vacuum coarse dirt with a vacuum cleaner and wash with water and a little universal cleaner and/or treat with Polymer. Do not use too much, otherwise unsightly streaks may form. However, do not use aggressive detergents such as abrasive cream and hard brushes or sponges that can quickly scratch the surface.

Cleaning wooden floors – here’s how to get clean planks and parquet.

Real wood floors give every room a warm and natural atmosphere. However, they are also expensive and taking good care of them is important so that you can enjoy them for a long time.

Cleaning parquet – sealed or unsealed?
To protect the flooring, it is best to dry clean the parquet every day and wet clean it only once a week. To do this, use a cotton-coated cloth. The soft structure of the cotton fibers is less aggressive on the parquet surface and absorbs dirt particles well.

Subsequent wet cleaning becomes easier if you have a sealed parquet floor, where a protective layer protects the underlying wood from the ingress of dust, dirt and moisture.

If you have a parquet floor that is not sealed or oiled, you should observe the following points:

  • For normal cleaning use warm water. For care you can also add a little Polymer to make the floor shiny again.
  • In case of more stubborn dirt, it is better to use a little universal cleaner.

Cleaning the plank floor – how to clean the plank floor properly?
When the plank floor is treated regularly with oil or wax, it reacts less sensitively to dirt or liquids. For daily cleaning, use mild detergents so that the wood does not dry out.

Attention: a surface that has been oiled for the first time or newly oiled can only be cleaned dry during the first two weeks.

Cleaning Tiles – How You Can Get Clean Tiles

“Simple all-rounders” in the world of floor coverings must first – as described above – be freed from coarse dirt. Wet cleaning is done with a mop or with a brush and rag. The water should be warm, so that even encrustations can be removed more easily.

Our multipurpose cleaner universal cleaner poured into water significantly supports the cleaning of tiles. Then let the floor dry or clean with a well-wrung microfiber cloth to avoid streaks.

Cleaning Cork – How to Keep the Natural Material Clean

Cork flooring has a positive impact on the indoor environment, is antistatic, dirt-repellent, but unfortunately not easy to maintain. Basic cleaning is still simple: a cork floor with average wear should be cleaned with a damp cloth weekly. A floor cloth or a microfiber cloth are suitable, because they do not absorb much water. After cleaning, no moisture should be left so that stains do not form.

Cleaning PVC floors

PVC floors are robust, but they also require regular cleaning so that they do not lose their shine. After dry cleaning, use warm water and the universal cleaner as it also effortlessly removes stubborn stains, grease and dark abrasion streaks caused by the shoe sole.

Cleaning natural stone, marble, slate or travertine floors

Floor coverings made of marble, slate, travertine or granite should never be cleaned with acidic detergents, otherwise the lime contained in the natural stone dissolves in combination with the acid and destroys the stone.
